I would not recommend Blake to prepare anyone's taxes. He was referred to me by one of my colleagues, and I thought "Thank God" because I was facing a garnishment from the IRS. I contacted Blake around October of 2014 about my situation. He had me send him all my tax information along with my earnings so that he could file my 2012 and 2013 taxes. In emails between Blake and myself, I was given "copies" of my tax returns for both years. My mistake that I didn't read all the information he had placed in that return. Blake sent off both returns, with me receiving a refund for 2012 in the form of a check.....I was grateful. Now I'm expecting my 2013's refund. Both returns were filed on the 3rd of October 2014, my refund for 2013 had not shown up. I got a notification in the mail from the IRS stating that my overpayment amount (which was greater than the original amount stated on my return) had been partially used to cover an amount that I owed the IRS. I wasn't to concerned, again placing to much faith in the preparer. So I waited, mean while I had been in communications with Blake through txt msgs and emails in which he was stating that due to multiple returns filed in my name as to why the refund for 2013 was taking so long. So Blake filed amendments to combat this claim. I received another notification regarding my then husbands return stating that it was returned to the IRS and to please call with an updated address. I called the IRS and gave them the proper address and decided to ask about the refund for 2013. Now just so you know, the date of this call was Jan 2 2015 at 6:00 pm PST. The agent proceeds to tell me that my refund for 2013 was directly deposited in an account on Oct 29th 2014 (3 weeks after it was submitted). The IRS gave me the account number and because I paid Blake through the same account I recognized the number. So Blake filed my taxes for 2013, gave me a copy of the return with my account info on it then submitted the same return with his account information on it! I talking to the IRS, ALL my earning information was grossly inflated! The IRS marked my 2012's return as erroneous (therefore I need to pay back the refund) and they are now doing a trace on the 2013's return, (which thank goodness I DID NOT get or I would be liable for that to). Now because of Blake I owe the IRS THOUSANDS of dollars.
