I received a letter from the FTB dated October 7, 2020 advising us of a $717.00 penalty that is due them because their records show that they did not receive our 2017 Tax Return from our tax preparers Mike and Kathy Conway. On October 20, 2020 I requested a document that would confirm when they E-filed our 2017 Taxes so I could submit it to the FTB. Since the penalty payment was due on October 23, 2020, I paid it so not to incur any more additional penalties. For over a two-and-a-half-month period I had to continually ask for this document and as of December 30, 2020 I still had not received anything and their response to my requests were few and mostly ignored. I was told by Mr. Conway that they could not locate the documentation nor the original tax return but said they would look for it further. To help I sent them the draft copy I received from them back in 2018 of our 2017 return. After many attempts, documentation available of summarized email communications and requests, as of today, December 31, 2020 I have not received nor heard nothing from them so I advised them that I would be filing a complaint with the CBA and again I was ignored.
