Please check on this "CPA" David Michael Austin advertising and claiming to be a CPA. Verify him through cpaverify.org. and you will not find him on their Georgia State listing. His PTIN being used is POO357949. I cannot find him.

NO STARS. David is manipulative and a straight out liar. He is "charming" and stonewalls you. If per chance you finally catch up to him he gives you bad checks after having filed your taxes, Corporate and Personal Late and blames it on the IRS...or his program not working properly. That is once you figure out what has happened ...once IRS starts sending you letters which takes them a while for all the paperwork to catch up. I had one starting in 2010 that was filed late and didn't know the TRUE situation until I visited the IRS office personally to find out what was going on. Up to that time I kept taking David's excuses that it would all work out...and it did...$880.00 later. Then during my IRS visit I found same problem with 2012, 2013, 2014. He did pay the $880.00 and then subsequently paid another penalty for 2012 for which his check bounced...I had found out in the meantime that other clients were having same serious problems...one client is in trouble over payroll taxes that they paid funds to David to send in quarterly payments and he did not send those in....I am filing complaints with the GEORGIA STATE AGENCY for CPA Accountability. ONE BY ONE. I feel David owes me back all funds I paid to him to file both my Corporate and Personal Taxes for which he did not perform his job I paid him to do and he also has cost me $$$ and time. I have now made five trips to IRS and still several more upcoming..waiting on IRS to look at new correspondence on a corporate issue. If you have a problem with David Austin, I would strongly suggest filing a complaint with the Georgia State Office of Accountability...don't wait on David to answer your call or respond to any calls or emails. He clearly has come mental problems.

February 1st 2015, I sent my documentation to David Austin to prepare my taxes. I had hired him in the past and had even sent my mother to him; neither of us had any problems with his service till this..… Again, I had sent him my documentation at the first of February but by March I had not heard from David and decided I should call and check the status of my filing since I needed to budget according to what I owed. Needless to say it took a few more weeks after that to get him on the phone. When I did speak to him and asked him the status of my filing, he said…”I thought I’d already done yours?”. I let him know that I hadn’t received anything in the mail yet nor had I received a phone call from him? He then said…”Well, let me look here…oh! …here they are…they got shuffled to the bottom…I’ll be sure to get on them right away.” After a few more weeks with no communication, I called again and got his voicemail. A few weeks later…it’s April 14th and still no communication…I call and get his voicemail AGAIN. I decided I needed to get in the car and drive the 45 minutes to his office to find out what was going on. When I arrived, approached him and asked him why I hadn’t heard back from him…he’d had my taxes since the first of February…he said…”I lost your paperwork”. I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT!!!!! I said…”And you weren’t going to let me know???????” HE FLAT OUT LIED! I made him write on a piece of paper that he’d file an extension and pay any penalties. He still waited to attempt to do so till late on April 15th. I knew I couldn’t trust him so I had already filed my taxes with someone else by then…thank goodness. BUT SERIOUSLY??? I STILL CAN”T BELIEVE THIS GUY!!!!! WARNING…THIS GUY IS COMPLETELY UNTRUSTWORTHY AND UP TO NO GOOD!!!!! IF I COULD GIVE HIM NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD!!!!

In March 2014, I hired David Austin of Austin & Associates to prepare my 2013 personal income tax returns. On April 15, I called him and was informed how much I would owe in taxes. He stated that he was filing an extension, and that he would submit the return "in the next few weeks". By September, I had still not heard back from him, and wrote him an email inquiring about the status of my returns. I left him six voicemails: on December 3, 15, January 12, 21, 22, and 23 and two more emails: on December 17 and January 12. I checked my account on the IRS website and found that no return had been filed for 2013. He finally answered the phone when I called on January 23rd, and he stated that he had filed the returns (but could not explain why the IRS had not received them). He said he would email me copies of the returns by lunch that day, which almost one month later, I still have not received. I left voicemails on January 23, 27, and 28, sent an email on Jan. 27, and sent a certified letter on Jan. 29. I have had no response from him. I finally hired another accountant to file my 2013 returns.
