Hi. I am the owner of a small business and have a few years worth of taxes to file. My business is a few buildings down from Liberty Tax, which is owned and operated by Rowan Hoose. My accountant and I went to his office to receive an estimate for what it would cost to have 2010-2013 filed, and he had told us $450. I am a plumber, and he had mentioned remodeling his bathroom and needing to hire a plumber, and we both agreed that I would do his bathroom remodel, and deduct $450 from what the remodel would cost, and in exchange, Rowan agreed to prepare and file taxes for the 4 years mentioned. My accountant provided him all the necessary paperwork to get him started and he said he would start with the year 2010. The next evening an employee and I went and started work on his bathroom. After spending time at his residence, it was apparent that he was a drunk, and he would drink the entire time I was there, causing distractions for my workers, and getting in the way. His behavior was that of a child, which concerned my workers who came into contact with him. He expected me to drop all other obligations or work when he called. He continued to delay in ordering, and debated on whether to get a permit or not, and when he finally did want the job to continue, he wanted it right that minute. On 11/12/2014 he was upset and intoxicated, despite it being noon, and he told me I was fired and that I had to pay him $200 to get my paperwork back. He has not filed any taxes yet, and it was already prepared by my accountant for him in advance, so his end of the bargain had not been met. All in all; this guy is a total basket case, and I would not trust him to file any tax returns knowing the man behind the curtain.
