This office is incredibly unprofessional. As a working professional myself, who has a large customer base, I am absolutely APPALLED by my first, only and last interaction with Jenny and her office. I highly DO NOT recommend Jenny. I called her office this morning to request one of my mom's tax returns to be emailed over to me by her secretary. This is after she verbally gave me the information I asked for but was incorrect when I entered it into the system that I needed the info for so I figured, why not just email it to me and I can take it from there? There is a language barrier so she had to repeat my email a few times, which is fine. I requested she send the email while I was on the phone so I could confirm I received the email. She replied to me saying it was not able to go through so I gave her another email address since she said her secured email would not go through to an edu address. She mentioned it "might take a little longer" because it was a secure email and said if I don't receive the email after some time to call her back. I didn't receive the email so I called her back. This time to tell her I did not receive it and to request a call back from Jenny herself because she insisted it would take a little longer for the email to come through. Which is interesting, I send emails daily and have never gotten an email that was sent instantaneously. Jenny calls me back after a few hours with an attitude. I said to her- I am requesting this information for X reason, your secretary gave me X information that was deemed incorrect so I requested the form to look at myself. She tells me to get the paper copy so she can guide me to enter the information. Which I replied to her that I didn't have it readily in front of me, that is why I had requested an email copy from her secretary. To my shock, she replies that she is a little annoyed because her office tried to email it to me already so if I didn't receive it, it was NOT HER PROBLEM. So naturally, yes, I did a 180 and proceeded to tell her how unprofessional she was. I won't even sugar coat it and say I didn't catch an attitude myself, because I did. I proceed to ask her "As an accountant, do you not have this information readily available?" Pretty legitimate question. She loses her mind and replies "Did I say that?" So she goes on and on about how my mom already has a paper copy so I need to go get it and how I keep "screaming" at her despite she is using the exact same tone. I simply mirrored her own tone to her. Anyways, to make this shorter, I said "Ok well since we're talking in circles.. send the tax return over and that'll be the end of this." My mom, who is merged into the call speaks to her for what feels like an eternity about basically nothing that is pertinent to the information requested, I said "Ok mom, we keep talking in circles. Just ask her to send it to the email." To which she hurls some more unprofessional words and I asked her "Ok, so are you sending it or not?" Jenny replies "No, I will not send it." And hangs up. Having a reliable accountant who is able to assist is the utmost importance, regardless of time but especially during a Pandemic. I understand this is an incredibly stressful time. However, the level of unprofessionalism and the conscious decision to NOT provide a client information needed is incredibly appalling. I am disappointed that this is how Jenny conducts business. Her profession calls for someone who is trustworthy and to be quite frank, she exhibited behavior today that suggests something different.
