I worked with Tom for a few years and was satisfied...however, this past year was a complete disaster. He made many mistakes (some of which I caught and some I had to engage another accountant to catch). I ended up having to file an amended return to fix the errors and felt at risk of an audit. I paid interest on what I owed as a result of this. I also had to chase him down multiple times to get things done (he did finally finish the job). This cost me time, money and stress. He's a very nice guy, but I wouldn't ever work with him again as an accountant and would warn others not to do so. I also wonder what he did in the prior years in terms of my returns (I did not have them closely checked so they may have had errors as well). Lastly, he never seemed to apologize fully for his many errors---I felt the decent thing to do would have been to waive his fee, but he did not, and I paid him his full fee.
