When I married, I filed jointly with my husband and Philip Steinberg was our tax preparer. I was married for only a short time and after I divorced and moved elsewhere within the same township, I decided to have my taxes done at H&R Block in Newtown, PA. When filing my 2016 taxes, it was H&R Block who told me about the 1% Earned Income Tax (EIT), which I never had to pay before 2014 since I had previously lived in a township that didn't collect such a tax. I was floored when I received a whopping delinquent Earned Income Tax bill for 2014 and tried to reach Mr. Steinberg numerous times to find out if he had collected the tax when preparing my taxes, which I found out on my own he had not. I was socked with hefty penalties and fees above the 1% of my annual salary because he never collected it when he prepared my taxes. I couldn't believe that the H&R Block chain is more on the ball about what taxes need to be filed than the fancy, expensive Mr. Steinberg and his company, WeiserMazars. Stay away from this man and WeiserMazars since it is obvious that they don't own up to any mistakes they make. The payment of the delinquent taxes for 2014, and now also 2015, was a hardship for me and not a peep from Mr. Steinberg. Should they make a mistake on your taxes, you too may be left in the cold without at least an apology for having screwed up. I have to rate it with a minimum of one star to submit but, in reality, he deserves no stars!
