Client Reviews of Tracey Henderson, RTRP

An audit found my taxes had been prepared incorrectly for several years by Henderson Tax Service. My tax preparer, Tracey Henderson, wrote a letter for me to appeal the interest and penalties explaining her software did not take into account the St. Louis city tax. The appeal was denied and I was left to cover the ~$1200 in penalties and interest. I emailed Tracey that it was wrong to leave me to pay for her mistakes, but she refused to pay me back. The Consumer Protection Division of the Indiana Attorney General's Office offered to arbitrate after reviewing my paperwork and email exchanges with Tracey. I wanted to engage in arbitration, but Tracey refused to participate. (It's is a voluntary process.) The Consumer Protection Division file number for my complaint with Henderson Tax Service is 19-CP-54334 and I have signed off for it to be available to anyone to have access and read. (As a side note: When this happened I had been a 10+ years loyal customer to Tracey. And before I had started using her service based in my hometown of Evansville, IN, she had confirmed that she could prepare taxes for a St. Louis resident. I trusted her and ended up losing a lot of money. In my opinion, Tracey failed in her professional responsibilities to me as her tax client.)
