This was my first year filing taxes with my husband and his tax preparer. I felt as if I had the short end of the stick mainly because my husband had used this tax preparer for several years. So I was going off word of mouth alone. The tax preparer did not engage me as a client, only my husband. When he did so, it was because I had to ask several times. I also asked how much would I be receiving back if I did the taxes separately. He reluctantly gave me an answer. The emails back and forth between us seem to be very one sided until after a phone call I had with him. I was told one thing by the tax preparer and one thing by my husband. I did not know who to believe. I can provide documents of everything that was presented as well as text messages, emails, and paper copies of letters from IRS and Dept of Treasury. Thanks.
