Client Reviews of Tracy E. Dunson

Tracy Dunson was highly recommended to me by a coworker. My primary objective was to have my previous year's taxes reviewed for errors, as I had recently moved states, bought and sold a house, cashed out a pension, etc. I met with Tracy in March, and she said she was not able to look at amendments until May. So, I had her complete my 2019 returns. It was a straight-forward return/year for me, and I was shocked at the price she charged me! Nevertheless, we make a 2nd appointment for May to complete my previous year review and file an amendment if needed - which she offered to do at no charge, since the charge for the straight-forward return was more than twice what I was expecting. When I showed up for my 2nd appointment in May, I was told my appointment had been canceled due to COVID-19. That would be understandable, but I had received text messages confirming and reminding me of the appointment within the previous few days. While I was there, I was told the work wasn't done and Tracy then "passed me off" to a colleague, Shirley, who said she would complete the review/amendment and have ready for me to pick up the next day. When I showed up for this 3rd appointment, Shirley said she needed more/missing information from me. If she had called to tell me this, I would have brought that information with me. But now, I had to make another trip to drop off the additional information and wait another week to pick up the documents. When I was contacted that my taxes were ready for pick up and payment, I explained that Tracy offered to do the review/amendment at no extra cost. I called Shirley to make sure she was in the office and that I was on my way over to review her findings. When I arrived (my 4th visit), I was asked to wait... Over 30 minutes later, I needed to get back to work, so I left with instructions to mail the information to me and that I would call with any questions. Another week later, I received ONLY the information I had provided myself, with no notes on changes she said needed to be made. I feel I was treated quite disrespectfully - by Tracy passing me off to Shirley, and Shirley never providing the service that I first came to this office to have done! I suppose she didn't feel she had to complete the work, since I wasn't going to pay her - even though Tracy had agreed there would be no further payment due to her office. To date, I have not received a response to my follow-up email regarding the corrections she felt needed to be made to my previous year's returns, and now I am left wondering if I really do own more money to the IRS and State - and if so, how much and WHY? None of this can be blamed on COVID-19. It does, however, speak volumes about the professionalism of this office and these "professionals". I will never recommend this offer to anyone - and those who referred me are embarrassed and appalled by how I was treated, and they will likely take their business elsewhere.
