Carolyn gets zero stars. This has to be one of the worst tax preparation experiences of my life. Carolyn was unprofessional, aloof, and complacent. First of all, I did not have one phone conversation with her until after my taxes was submitted. And even at that time she only said she "doesn't know how long things will take to process" The majority of the communication was via text, because everytime I called she was not available, except once! I submitted my tax documents to her on March 23rd, and as of March 29th we had our first tax "conversation" via text, where she gave me the amount I was scheduled to receive for both my state and federal taxes. Mind you, I have a home based business and she did not explain anything to me with regards to how everything works, outside of the fact that I was taking a loss based on how much money I invested in my business compared to what I made throughout the year and she only recommnded to keep all of my receipts. Later in the "conversation" she verified my bank account number because I've prepared my taxes with her before. In fact, I've gone to her for at least 4 or 5 years. Anyway, once I confirmed that my bank account info was the same and submitted a copy of my drivers license, I assumed we were good to go and that all she needed to do was submit my documents. So on April 8th, I followed up with her via text just to check the status of my taxes, assuming they were already in process, and I asked if my documents were submitted. To my utter disbelief she stated that she did not submit my taxes because she was waiting for a signature from me. Mind you, about 10 days prior when we had the initial text "conversation" at no point did she mention that she needed a signature from me. I was under the impression that she had everything she needed. Otherwise, I would've submitted my signature page the very next day. I was so angry because when I followed up with her I was out of town and I was unable to print my taxes in order to send over the signed documents. Had she told me when we first "discussed" everything I would've submitted my paperwork before I went out of town. But unfortunately,I ended up faxing my signed documents to her on April 11th, after I returned from out of town. Fast forward to today April 24th, I'm wondering why I haven't received my state return, especially since it was scheduled for a direct deposit. From past experiences I usually received my state deposit within 7-10 business days. So, I checked the state website and found out that the return was received as of April 18th and that the money would be deposited within 48 hours, which would've meant that I should've received my money on April 20th. Since I haven't received the deposit yet, I called the state comptroller office wondering what was causing the delay. Once I spoke to the rep I found out that my check wasn't deposited because Carolyn carelessly missed typing a digit to my checking account number, resulting in my bank denying the deposit. I honestly could not believe this was happening. I was so angry! What makes this situation even more devastating is that I'm not working and I need this return to help support myself and pay my bills. I entrusted Carolyn with my money and gave her my business because I've done my taxes with her before, with no major issues, but after this experience I would NEVER use her services again! At this point, I honestly don't think she is capable of preparing taxes. I pray that no one ever has to go this situation again. Signed- disgruntled customer

I paid Carolyn Garner $415 last year to prepare 2012 Business Taxes< to make a long store short, I was told by her the IRS accepted my return. I go back to have my 2013 Business Taxes done again Carolyn tells me the IRS didn't accept you 2012 tax return. I replied you told me it was accepted now you tell me something difference. Carolyn lied and took my money about something as important as my taxes. I will never used her service again. Terrible
