I had an apt with Dan where I presented my docs and previous returns for a very straight-forward 1040 return; but I was told my taxes would not be done there on the spot. 2 weeks later and no word, so I emailed and was told they would be done Monday the following week. When that deadline came and went, I waited 2 more days to give the benefit of the doubt and emailed again asking for the status. I received a gruff email stating "you just asked the same question and answering you takes time out of my schedule that I could be working on your taxes; I'm shooting for Monday." (meaning the following week at this point). If you are going to miss deadlines of your own making, an "hey, sorry...running behind. Will get to you by next Monday" would have gone a long way, even after a month of waiting. But as is, he lost my business. Just a caveat to anyone else thinking about this service.
